Stage 3: Production
Satisfaction in Your Life

People are satisfied or unsatisfied with their lives for many reasons.

A. Brainstorm:

What is a satisfied life? Why might someone say they have a satisfied life? Why might someone say they are not satisfied? Make two columns, satisfied and unsatisfied. List some things under each column.
Satisfied                            Unsatisfied

B. Look at the scale below.

Most Satisfied-------------------------------------Least Satisfied
10      9      8      7      6      5      4      2      1

Round 1) What number are you now? Why? Try to explain aloud.
Round 2) What number will you be at the age of 30? Why?
Round 3) What number will you be at the age of 45? Why?

Stage 4: Research
Education Memory

Work with your classmates to create a survey about education memory.
1) Choose a research topic. Here are some suggestions:
Technology in schools: blocking websites, training teachers, parents' feelings about technology, Web 2.0, etc.
School Crime: theft, vandalism, bullying, fighting, etc.
School Safety: how to make schools safer for young people
Class tardiness: Why are students late for class?
Community: Parents volunteering at school. Students volunteering to help the community

2) Make some questions about the topic. Ask about experience in elementary school, middle school, high school, and at university. Ask about satisfaction, use a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 is least satisfied and 5 is most satisfied. Ask about good things and problems. Ask for examples.
Make copies of your survey and interview your English class. Interview classmates standing outside smoking. Interview friends from middle school. Interview as many people as you can.

Stage 5: Publish
Report your Findings
Prepare a short presentation on your research findings for your English class. Talk about people's satisfaction. Talk about examples of good things and problems. A Power Point would be so cool!
